  • This last page of the Vieuxtemps Fifth just blew me away as a 14 year old. I could not get over the energy, the way Heifetz plays the syncopation at :33-:40, and the "devil on his shoulder" explosiveness with which he ends it. This may sound maudlin, but it was this recording that convinced me to pursue a musical career.
