@xianvon00: I agree. That is like people saying that the City of Cleveland caused Modell to leave.
Both moves never should have happened. They were Adams, Modell's, and the NFL's fault.

Saying that the City of Houston, not Bud Adams caused the Oilers to leave is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard. He threatened to move the team to Jacksonville, so we totally RUINED the dome to placate him. Before his lease even expired, he again threatened to move to Nashville. He went back on his word. We were willing to build the stadium, but he had to embarrass the city by calling off a game b/c of turf conditions, and broke his word. He will never win a Super Bowl!!!

The city of Houston, not Bud Adams caused the Oilers to leave. He ask for a football stadium and was told NO! So what did the city wind up doing? Building a NEW stadium for a baseball team that at that time had only made the playoffs 2 times in 25 years, while the Oilers had been to the playoffs numerous times, made the AFC championship game twice and they also won the first 2 AFL championships. And the the city built the stadium that Bud wanted, after they left. Makes alot of sense.

@willemkd I, too, wish the Oilers had stayed in Houston. Even though there's always a chance for the current Houston team to make good, it is just a bill of goods.
Oilers Forever!

@voxianguy actually Bum was GM at the time too, but Adams hired Ladd Herzeg one day after firing Bum. Yes losing to the Raiders was the trigger, but that would not have happened had we kept Dante instead of Snake. Bum was so afraid of Pittsburgh he felt he had to beef up the team with washed up veterans. It didn't work

@myersde91 The city wanted the Oilers, but they could not deal with "Bolting Bud" Adams anymore. Too many threats and never delivering the goods. The city just got sick of it. Just plain Texas wisdom. There were other options, but Bud wanted everything HIS way, so they left.

@riotusa1 Losing to the Oakland Radiers in the 1st round of the playoffs in '81 is what got Bum fired because Bud Adams, and the GM at the time (name escapes me) were/are morons.

your video sucks because of that "music" are you a little slow or do you actually think that sounds good? I can see if you are retarded and cant help yourself....

Again, Adams threatened to move the team to Jacksonville in 1987. The city responded by upgrading the Astrodome. Then a few years later Adams again tried to extort the city Tennesse got the Titans/Oilers by Adams' threatening to move, this time to Nashville, who basically threw obscene amounts of money at him to get the Oilers to move. In the end Houston paid far more in attracting the Texans, and I just wish the Oilers had stayed in Houston with Nashville getting the expansion team.
