@nycbassist i agree charlie is a phenomenon in himself the upright just lights up like a rainbow when he plays it loved this album hearlplay and beyond the missouri sky with pat metheny dont think it gets much better than those two albums sweet stuff

Haden's sound just drips huge quantities of honey with every note. To all jazz musicians, sound and meaning what you do are the essentials. Before all your 32nd note licks, and playing giant steps at a gazillion notes a minute, get a sound and learn to mean what you play. (And yes.. I could use the lesson with every gig I play!)

of the top five songs in my life this one done by charlie and antonio in the top two i relax so much when i hear it, it soothes my soul if i could by pat metheny and the beyond the missouri sky with charlie and pat is another one of my favorites just fabulous unbelievable and incredibly relaxing!
