A short movie of various b-roll footage that I have shot for a small documentary on the banana-bateys of north western Dominican Republic, and their economy. I don't see it as such a sad place as it seems in this film, but making has made me revisit some of my earlier feelings about the place, it's strange how the camera can give you a fresh perspective and distance on something you feel you have resolved in "real-life".
Shot on a canon 7D with the Tamron 17-50 2.8 lens (non-VR), Manfrotto 055 XPROB tripod and fancier 717 Fluidhead (cheap ebay). All shots are with a Circular PL filter that cuts down one or two stops of light.
Edited in FCP X, which I really like btw.. perfect for HDSLR video
