Britta Gross, a director of GM's commercialization unit for its Volt electric car, says the auto-maker is now focused on expensive, geek-friendly "wow" features in Generation 1 of the vehicle. In the next generation -- not specified but perhaps five or so years from now -- GM will try to broaden its market with a reduced cost that would partly involve reducing the number and capacity of that gadgetry.
