To summarize ... as long as violent coercion and extreme social inequity are the calling cards of "reaganomics", "neoliberal globalization", "neocolonialism" ... whatever the fuck you want to call it ... terrorism will continue.
Worst of all, the security industry works in tandem with the economic policy that breeds terrorism, creating a closed loop. (A very profitable and unfortunately blood soaked loop)

I doubt the central Al Quaeda has anything to do with this. It's a name people recognise, so those who desire media attention will simply rebrand themselves Al Quaeda, and reap the media rewards. It's not that this story isn't newsworthy, but i fear that 'Al Quaeda' will do nothing but grow as long as a camera shows up wherever some crazy person claiming to be a member commits a violent act. Political movements require attention to further their cause, and, in that sense, these acts succeeded.
