i hate it when people say horseback riding isnt a sport and doesnt take ANY physical strength when theyve never ridden a horse [beyond pony rides]

Okay, seriously, everyone is bitching and complaining about Horse Racing when they have no idea what so ever. I agree, they should wait a while before racing the horses. They start a lot of horses younger then they should that's not what I'm commenting about. Not all horses are abused or slaughtered. Sure, there are a few because their OWNERS are assholes but it DOES NOT happen to every horse. Most of the horses are treated very well.

I hope this makes sense 'cause I don't have time to read it.

i am very much so against the racing industry but not the idea of racing in general and i know only a few of these horses are abused but they are all racing them far far far to young look at the statistics people its not okay for a horse to be breaking down before its even done growing horses shouldn't be raced hard till there six years old then they can run hard at almost no risk so I'll compromise with you race horse owners don't race your horses till they're 4

Your Absolutely Right. I was involved in racing, training my own race horses, and there are a lot of very good people that would do anything to keep their horses safe and happy. If I had a horse that did not have the ability to make a good racehorse, I Always was able to retrain them to do anything from Jumping to being a good trail horse, and I found them good homes when I would have to sell them.

I think that they start them too early, all they have to do is wait until they turn three when their muscles are developed. If they did that there would be less injuries, because their bones would be strong.

Who cares about the jockeys, that's all people focus on. What about the horse's health? They always seem to look over that, and the incidents that happen on the track make this obvious.
