This is my transcription of the Octavarium Lead Key Solo, fingered for a single hand. This solo was written by Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. This piece took me a little over a month to get up tempo. I play on a custom-weighted CME UF8, backed by Propellerheads Reason 4. If you want to hear more of my music or want to download patches for this, check out my website at http://www.sealedabstract.com/?p=337

Much apologies to Mr. Rudess for any errors in my transcription; unfortunately an official one has yet to be released.

Controls:
My mod wheel brings in the third octave at 1:05. I use my pitch wheel to perform the final run. I use a sustain pedal throughout.

Sorry for the angle, it was the best I could do without a tripod.

  • @xilionxilion try listening to dream theater, try playing the keyboard, try actually learning what music is aside from vocals, and you'll feel like an idiot for saying that.

think about it, the fastest rappers can hit various notes in random octaves really fast, (unless u think they magically speed up on stage too..) why couldnt fingers do the same thing with another instrument?

but hey, if you feel cool.. that's all that matters right.

you got 5 thumbs, fuckin rockstar, tell ur friends!

  • OMG ! He stole Jordans magical spellbook!

  • Fake, there is no way you can do that with one hand!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • speed up, fake!

  • @rudess84 Rudess himself CAN do this one handed, and i play keyboard and i can play this one handed, and i know a lot of people who can play this one handed.

  • if you think that no one can play that fast, see mr. Arcadi Volodos, he plays twice that fast and cleaner too, so stop saying nonsenses

  • @rudess84 But he does play with one hand on this solo...

  • @twitty666 rudess himself cant do this one-handed...so shut up...everyone can do this video...playing fast is not the same of playing slow..some parts cant done one handed and also not so clean as this...maybe you dont play keyb, I do! So I can speak...you cant! Ok?

  • @twitty666 sry mate if look at the first 2 seconds of the video you can clearly see that the whole thing is sped up
