The premiere episode of 'Coming Out Black' the podcast where we talk about all things black and gay (lgbtq-itl-sgl). A short biography of the late Octavia Estelle Butler (1947-2006), the infamous African American female science fiction writer.
She's not an identified part of the LGBT community, she was not named after her father she was named after her mother (Octavia) - this needs to be edited. Also, why is she called "infamous" - it would be more accurate to say "famous"
This is great information. However, I am not sure of the relevance here, as she is not identified as part of the LGBT community. Nor, can you assume and make her part of the LGBT community because you want her to be. Did she did have LGBT type characters in the SCI-FI books? I could see that angle being more relevant.
Hopefully, future post will include Black LGBT leaders of today.
Stop defining her
