Students from the Beaverton Arts and Communication Magnet Academy in Beaverton, Oregon recently visited the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. The purpose of this field trip was to combine science curriculum regarding climate change in the Pacific Northwest with art education. This project helped the students explore the ways in which climate change affects their immediate surroundings along with their own personal thoughts and feelings regarding climate change. After their visit to the refuge, students created works of art based on their experiences at the Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge.

This project was made possible through the support of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Connecting People With Nature Program. Portland non-profit My Story Workshops and the Friends of the Tualatin River Refuge provided additional support.
