  • It's the same as the iPhone's video autofocus. It focuses at the start of the video, then remains fixed for the duration of the video. It won't focus again until you stop recording and start recording again.

  • same as many standalone cameras too. 'It focuses at the start of the video, then remains fixed for the duration of the video.'

  • eEvery second word "it's "autofocus", well it can't change the focus, while making the video. So - what's new you're saying?!

  • yea sorry about that. noticed it when i watched the video. autofocus and "out of focus" sound the same

  • it's pre-focus

  • you can download an app called "live focus" from the app manager to have focus during the vid, turn on flashlight and turn off red led :)

  • is there any way to mod a n97 or similiar... so that it has video autofocus?

  • @vezkov I also first thought it was able do change the focus on the fly while recording, too bad that isn't the case. But the phone is overwhelming enough as it is ^^.

  • Get the application called Live Focus, it's a script that enables you to focus and toggle LED light while making a video. You might need to enable repositories in the catalog. Google it. \:D/

  • there is probably a way to have it try to find the best focus for each frame as the video is being recorded

  • mine nokia dont even focus a video....... WTF?

  • he didn't change from macro to normal!

  • Did you change from marco mode to normal ? It's the same problem with every recording devices.

    It doesn't surprise me.

  • No, it's correct. The idea is that you select to which point the camera focuses and the device handles the rest automatically rather than you having to do it manually with a slider.. Bad thing is that you cannot change the focus-point after you started recording. But this also is a thing one software upgrade can fix. Still, this is a great feature.
