This BIM video represents a 425 kilowatt photovoltaic installation at the Alpha Grainger Manufacturing facility in Franklin Massachusetts. The solar array is comprised of 1573 panels, shown in green.
The video shows the layout of how Broadway configured and installed the panels on the roof of the building. Obstacles which had to be avoided are shown in blue. They represent roof top fans, air handling units, vents and drains.
The solar panels are supported and mounted via a panel claw ballasted system, shown in magenta, which is a weighted system, requiring no roof penetrations.
This system is expected to generate approximately 500,000 kilowatt hours of energy each year representing savings of $80,000 annually.
