Interesting, did not know that the voice on the show was different from the record. I miss the accent here, too - letter people were kinda scary. At least our childhoods weren't nearly as sanitized as the 80's (and still are, even moreso). Heck, I'll take creepy ol' letter people over care bears, rainbow bright, or nickelodeon any day.

Mr. R's song was just too much for Kindergartens back in the early 80's. :(

@Lycanthrope777 Thank god I'm not the only one who detected a vague aura of eroticism around Mr. R. What the hell is wrong with me?

It seems to me like the character would be portrayed as an antagonistic character due to how the song goes. Miss O would seem to be another one.
where is his accent? Didn't he have a semi-british accent?

Yes, on the TV show. This song is from the record that came out a few years before the show, and somehow Miss A is the only one whose voice on the show was even close to what she sounded like on the record.
I must say, I preferred how he sounded on TV...

I'll never forget, my kindergarten teacher putting in the video for Mr. R, and then 2 minutes later stopping the tape, telling us "we would not be watching this one".

Dare I even ask what prompted that decision? Sounds rather interesting...
