I have always been fascinated by human cruelty and how people you see everyday going about their daily lives could be capable of such evil. Is there a predisposition, an ideology, incongruity perhaps? If your dogma is a belief that billions of people will be tortured for eternity when your god returns, what is to stop you from cruelty, If your god is capable of such cruelty, why not you? People all over the world do what they understand their gods will do. Examples are, judge others, and punish those who have caused no harm, also, torture and murder. What is God? It is an invention of man and mans interpretations of god very, from self, to others, to an ideology and of course the classic guy in the sky that loves you with dire conditions. To bow to god is to bow to man.
Be in harmony with life and our unique consciousness will not be wasted.

@AntEyeTheist I like the message and totally agree with the video, but that last line is a riddle and sounds kinda bad. If you are telling me it is supposed to mean, "History is written by the winners." Then you yourself can see my confusion. Maybe it is better switched out for the latter.

I think that you are confusing survivor with winner.

Not all survivors are winners as I'm sure you know.

I see the survivors as the innocent victims of war.

If you look at it that way, the words make perfect sense.

Meaning, survivors are the subject of historical analysis in authoritative texts.

"History must be written BY the survivors."

Survivors are the authors of said historical analysis (or at least very closely and extensively quoted).

"History must be written FOR the survivors."

Survivors are to be favorably portrayed in said texts.

To me, this is what the it says in the last slide.

"History must be written BY the survivors." (Most unbiased)

"History must be written FOR the survivors." (Lest we forget)

Look at the ideals and concepts that politicians value from their "constituents". My approach is that the government is enabling the truth that we're losing control of our influences on eachother within our lives.

World War II - The Nazi Party capitalized on the lack of focus or questioning of the government at hand. Obviously, this led to a socialistic expansion until it was too late.

You see Fox News as Black and White. I see it as a true Checks and Balance.

Very thoughtful and meaningful quote. I am an avid viewer of Fox News. I recognize it is somewhat biased, but accurate at the same time. They wouldn't be able to legally display half their stories if they weren't true. This completes the perspective that I'm missing from my college education and MSNBC/N.Y Times.

Before you're quick to judge conservatives, let's lean to history. Plato once said that a mix of the wealthy class and guardians would lead to corruption.

This is a brilliant video. So true. I think your hypothesis is correct - it helps to explain the dehumanisation training that characterises most forms of military training...

Describing people as dogs, pigs, maggots, vermin or just animals - as if animals are bad, dirty - the antithesis of humans, the fallen angels.

It's easier to destroy a thing than a person. You might empathise with a person, but can you empathise with a rock?

Animals are also persons.

That's a quote from one of the survivors of the Nazi Sobibor extermination camp. He believed that anyone could be made to do what the Nazis did given the right circumstance. One day they're helping you with directions in the street and the next Hitler's convinced them to kill you.

A lot of those who carried out the Final Solution were family men. They'd go home at night and kiss their children, read them a book, etc.

We're all probably capable of it, sadly.

Every time I see a clip from Fox News I realize that for many the world is becoming black and white, us and them... actually, I think anyone is capable of it... even lefties like me.. but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on the far right... they seem to pander more to fear and hate... doesn't seem that much further of a leap... then again... all it takes is one famine to bring out the worst in any of us...
