Well, right now I am the lead IT Service administrator for a university (whos name I need to keep away from the internetz). I was offered the job after meeting them at a careerfest hosted by my university. I pretty much service student laptops, remote into their computers if they're having issues, backup all office information, and pretty much make sure that all computer-based courseware works. It's a nice job while I'm still in school.

If you're going into an IT profession, I would recommend majoring in Network Security Management, or something similar. I used to major in Computer Games and Graphics, but Networking is much more marketable. The average salary of someone getting a job in the Networking admin world is roughly 88K a year to start off. If you go government, you can expect roughly 120K after 4 years. If you like making networks, managing security systems, and setting up blocked lists, look there.
