just picked this up today. it's definitely smaller than i thought it would be, but that was a welcomed surprise for me. i wanted something bigger than a pocket organizer, that wasn't gonna be a pain in the ass to "grab and go" with. as far as those side attachments...that's what the molly on the front flap is for.

the "crazy outside straps" are belt loops. great video though. i'm gonna have to pick one up =P

for a bag of that size you fit a good amount of stuff in it i have one for my and i find it great

Great techie config. setup. As a gear-do myself I like setups like this :) As an idea to the first aid kit consider the Coghlans Pack II model. IIRC it is the hard plastic curved version. I own 2 of then. One in a Maxpedition Thermite versipak and the other is sealed in it's original packaging lost in the home somewhere. Contains enough to take care of most minor/minor-moderate injuries while being very compact and watertight. Only downside is it's a soft-hardcase unlike a flexiable bag/pouch.

those straps on the back are belt loops for wearing it like a but pack or hip pack what ever u wana call it

I see on your review that you put a 10" netbook in the bag. I have a Acer netbook, but according to the Maxpedition website (7.5" L x 3" W x 9.5" H), my netbook is just a bit too big.
The dimensions of my netbook are 7.375 L x 1" W x 10.25 H, so I am worried about the height measurement.
Is this larger than the netbook you used, or should it fit?

I understand that you don't like the front flap outside but you could always attach the Rolly Polly and battery case to the flap
