I dont see why Wiki cant earn money from advertisers to keep going. I know its ethic is non-profit making, but even if they allow advertising for just one week a year might be enough to pay for Wikis upkeep for a year.. Simplistic perhaps, but advertising revenue need not be an ugly term; the advertisers could be vetted for their own ethics, and Jimmy Wales could have an external mechanism in place to monitor and ensure that he and Wikis staff are themselves not personally profitting.

if the wikimedia staff had some integrity and a brain they would put some protection against IP address editing. Plus this is what i gather from the new change:
GFDL - Attribution must physically accompany all copies
CC - Attribution may by conveyed via any "reasonable means"
you can imagine what that means: no respect for contributors whatsoever.

How can you say that a non-profit project that gives free-of-charge information to the entire world, that goes to 3rd world countries and distributes PCs with offline copies of the entire Wikipedia to poor children and keeps away from publicity, sucks???
