@DrProfer 6dB = x4, 10dB= x10 when comparing against a 1/4wave dipole. If it's against an isotropic you take 2.15dB off the gain figure to give the real performance.

Gain is not on a linear scale. Problem is, why have all that gain when it is cancelled out by a high radiation angle of 35degrees! With WiFi you should be aiming for a very low angle of radiation. A simple antenna with low radiation angle outperforms a high gain high radiation angle aerial every time. Gain isn't everything!
