The problem isn't just greedy, irresponsible corporations and all those who exploit and profit from the desperately poor, but mindless consumerism in the so-called First World..and particularly in these here United States, home to the most gluttonous consumers the world has ever seen. We've created a world in which the wealthiest one fifth consumes almost 80% of the goods while the poorest one fifth -- whose labor largely produces much of those goods -- can consume just 1.5 percent.

So basically 'raising our voices' is winning a video competition where we talk about how cell phones and computers are promoting violence in the Congo due to minerals in the cell phones. Yeah... I don't think if we throw our cell phones away, the government of the Congo will stabalize (the weak government being the reason all this terror is happening, not minerals that probably don't even come from a mine in the Congo). But nice try trying to waste our time. God bless.

h3y THIS is a gr3at VIDEO;; few activists understand that WITH the BARRAGE of emails & links,, folks just WILL not read most of the CRITICAL political actions/updates that they'd LIKE to respond to;; SO i applaud your v3ry SMART use of g00d CONCISE production to make a video that ANYONE will likely play & pay attention-to---it's sad BUT the information age just requires THIS kind of professional production/music & editing & spokes-people in order to reach the Mtv & media generation.
