Pitt Students Celebrate Steelers' AFC Championship Victory - 18 Jan 2009

Another big victory, another celebration!

On Sunday 18 January 2009, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens 23-14 in the National Football League's AFC championship, earning themselves a spot in Super Bowl XLIII, to be held in Tampa, Florida on 1 February 2009.

This is video from the celebrations on the University of Pittsburgh campus.

They were! I was in the middle of this. What happened was the people who lived in the apartments above the crowd started waving Eagles flags out their windows (even though the Eagles didn't play in the AFC Championship - typical Philadelphians in Pittsburgh), everyone started chanting, then some guy climbed up and grabbed the dangling flag and burned it in the street. It was awesome. Great college memory. Go Steelers.

I know. Me and my frend left Peter's and came down by where you were filming. I was there watching people throw snowballs at that building! It was an awesome time. I was saying that I was in Oakland.....

Wow, what a site! I'm in Korea now and have goosebumps from all these great videos of Steeler fans. Like Bill Hillgrove said after Troy's touchdown return "this place is on FIRE! Wish I could be in W Pa now! GO STEELERS (and Panthers too!)

The video was actually filmed near Hemingway's and the former Boomerang's. Peter's Pub is, however, only a short block away... so not much would be missed from there.
