What the EPA has been doing is passing new caps on US coal plant, which is putting the individual coal plants dire economic trouble. They are so restrictive that the coal plants are just shutting down. Any new plants that were scheduled to be built have all been abandoned. This is trully a matter of National Security.

Just today in Las Vegas, Nevada a California-based environmental (nazi) group Earthjustice has just filed a suit against the EPA in federal court, alleging it has failed to put a cap on a coal plant in S. Nevada, creating a permanent haze over Grand Canyon. Notice the suit does not say that it creates too much pollution. I don't know much about the role coal plays in the US but you can see there's a concerted effort to close them all down. Will lead to higher prices & maybe even shortages.

Never mind the fact that, while the tech itself has advanced well, a new Nuclear power plant hasn't been built in 20+ years in the US due to NIMBY groups that would rather see old plants run into the ground, than to see newer, safer ones built.

Are you being sarcastic? Nuclear is anything but CLEAN OR SAFE. Nuclear power plants expel radionuclides into the air, and exposure to high levels of radiation can kill within a matter of days or weeks...

The Heritage Foundation did a study and found that Solar power would triple household electrical bills from $200/ month to $700/month. I guess the Obamalites will not mind because he will pay for their electric bill and give them a free phone.
