Here I make a quick, easy, nutritious and filling green smoothie for my breakfast. I'm making it vegetarian/vegan style, but it can also be made totally raw.

I'm on a weight loss journey and am transitioning to a raw vegan diet. As of the day I recorded this, it's been 6 weeks and I have already lost 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms/2 stone) through diet and exercise.

  • Hey Peter that smoothie looks amazing! I am vegetarian trying to do high raw (all raw is not for me) and I love smoothies. I still drink store bought almond milk but would love to make my own. I usually don't add pb or choco to my smoothies but I bet it tastes great! Will have to try it.

Also, good to see some guys doing veg*n/raw. It's rare I meet a guy who is. :)

  • Thanks! It is a very tasty smoothie for sure. I have yet to try making my own almond milk though. Peanut butter and coco go great for a nice choco/nutty flavor.

And yeah, I'm seeing more and more guys going raw these days!

  • hmm not sure if young coconuts would be that plentiful in canada. hmmmmmmm I hope you find some. if not i'll eat enough for the both of us. haha (i have like 4 a week) Oh if you go on gone raw . com im pretty sure one of my recipes is on the front page for a Kale salad. SERIOUSLY..sooooo good.

  • I might have to wait until I go on vacation a bit further south or to a tropical country to get young coconuts. I've had them before when I was on vacation. So yeah, for now, you'll have to eat enough for both of us! And I found your recipe for Kale salad - sounds awesome! I'm doing a juice fast at the moment, but will have to try that kale salad as soon as I'm done fasting!

  • you know whats pretty good.

ice. young coconut (the juice and meat) fresh blueberries and spinach. HECCA GOOD. and a huge energy booster.

  • I can get all of that except young coconuts. I've had them before and can imagine how good that would be in a smoothie. I'll have to see if there's a place that sells young coconuts here, and not just the mature ones. The mature ones are sweeter, but it's such a pain getting the coconut meat off the shell.

  • This is insane! Never seen spinach , milk , pb and cinnamon all work! Spinach and milk? What? but looking at Mr douglas' future clips and progress and then hearing him when he was obese saying it tastes good makes me think twice. Usually when an overweight person says somethung healthy tastes good must mean it really can be done. Good Clip.

  • I love green smoothies, thanks for the tips and ideas. The cinnamon sounds like a good addition.

  • oh good luck with that. I tried a juice fast but it ended costing me WAY to much lol so i had to stop after like, 4 days.

  • yes, it is good, just add a little natural salt, not to much but enough to bring out natural flavors, it will be more runny then chemically filled peanut butter, and it will have oil on top whn you let it settle but stir it up and you will be good to go

  • That's sounds yummy! I haven't tried making raw almond milk yet, but will. I found raw peanuts, so if I could grind it into peanut butter, that would be awesome.
