A short video' showing the process involved in changing London Underground trains at Green Park in February 2009. There's a very long tunnel (note the busker playing Wings's Live And Let Die to a pre-recorded backing) and some announcements may be heard. This is all shot on a hidden camera as London Underground By-Laws prohibit recording video without permission. However if anyone from London Underground is reading this, I confirm that this was in fact filmed in a mock-up section of Tube inside the BBC Studio TC1!

  • If I want to change line (example: victoria line to piccadilly line at green park),do I need to check-out by going through ticket machine at Green Park and buy ticket again for piccadilly line station ?

  • @ivtch00817 That depends on what ticket you bought. If you started your journey with the intent of traversing the two lines, then your ticket should be for the entire journey. This would be normal, and it wouldn't be necessary to exit the station. If you bought a Travelcard allowing you to move freely in these zones after 9:30 a.m. then you would similarly not need to exit. If, however you'd bought a single to Green Park, (or indeed a return) then you would need to exit and buy a further ticket.

  • @dfarmbrough Ermm...So, if i travel from euston station (victoria line) to hearthrow terminal 3 (piccadilly line), there is no necessary to exit at green park if i buy ticket (includes oyster card, travelcard, single paper ticket) for "euston to heathrow terminal 3", am i correct ? Sorry to ask you again...because im still new on this and need to know this to travel around london... ;)

  • @ivtch00817 Yes, that seems about right.

  • Kinda reminded me of the invisible man going up the steps....you should do a rush hour video to show the difference! :)

  • @1969nightmare I HATE those places in rush hour - they make me feel physically ill. I'm not claustrophobic, but I feel like if I removed my legs from the floor, I would be carried along by the sea of city gents...

  • @dfarmbrough

    thanks mate, cheers....;)

  • @Tomsonic41 Yes - there is a lot to be appreciated in the Underground.

  • I quite like that long tunnel's artwork - at the Jubilee line end, there are many more grey tiles than blue in the mosaic. The amount of blue tiles gradually increase and the grey tiles decrease as you walk towards the Piccadilly end, until eventually there's no grey and just blue tiles.

  • @iksproduction Thank you :-)
