Every year since 2004, in a village Zadní Třebaň, the ensemble Harmonia Mozartiana Pragensis (HMP) commissions a musical arrangement for voice and double bassoon of a provocatively Dadaistic text by the composer Ervín Schulhoff (1894-1942), who wrote it as a distinctive commentary on his composition The Bass Nightingale for solo double bassoons from 1922. Each year the new arrangement adds another bassoon, so 2009s composition is written for voice and six double bassoons. Each year the HMP dedicates the premiere to the Prague City Council in memory of their failure to allocate grant funding for one of HMPs projects, even though the Czech Committee for UNESCO had endorsed it.
