The only reason they quit building the Detroits was because during 70s when the EPA had its first go around with cutting emissions the Detroit motors didnt meet the standards. Kinda like what they are doing to Cummins and Caterpillar now.

We used to have 2 of these. The only problem with them is you would get the guys who ran Caterpillars and they would try to shift these things like a Cat. Took out transmissions left and right.

@TerexPete You could always tell a Euc driver but no much because he couldn't hear. I had three of these on a project one year, sounded like a gang of lawnmowers on steroids. No cushion hitch on the 14b resulted in cracks in the gooseneck.

I'm a mechanic up in Saskatchewan and we sell ALOT of Terex parts. the best thing about them. Simple. They are a simple machine to run, fix, and maintain.

Good video, wouldn't mind running one of these for a day or two. There seems to be alot of love or hate for these machines. I sure bet they would beat a shovel and wheel barrow. Those Detroits sound like if they had wings and a propeller they could fly.

how long have you been in a scraper cause it takes u way to long to get loaded i run a Cat 627G and it dont take us that long at all!!
