Well, I said I would do the important events, and this event is pretty important! But trend followers and regular viewers should not be surprised by what is happening out there.

In fact thanks to the power of trend following we got chart down trend following signals long before the news and regular market participants started to panic.

So at the very least you were in cash, and the more savvy among you were net short.

  • @DaveASXWatch thanks man! i've got to get learning

  • @bigbillyz absolutely. If I could recommend anything to get started it would be to test one entry / exit rule on one stock chart each night. This will soon get your skills up. If you can get above 60% wins and above 2:1 Profit to Loss, you're on to a winner. GL man!

  • Hey Dave love the videos :P

Is moving average a useful tool or not really?

    Thanks so much cheers mate

  • @bigbillyz thanks! Yes, MAs can be useful - Stan Weinstein and WIlliam O'Neil both use them - the 200 day and 50 day MA being most common for solid moves. I would still combine them with regular bar chart analysis, either single bars (like candlesticks) or chart patterns.

  • Quite a dramatic plunge dude!

  • @ThexBorg Very! We had all the warnings and trend changes, but we can't always know if it will be short and sharp or long and drawn out...

  • There will be a lot of bargains now though. These patterns usually have a similarly dramatic up tick where the shoppers come in.... And a lot of margin calls on Friday 8-)
