Actually, they made no mention of prevention. If it is going around your school, a pharmacist recommended 'Quit Nits' sprayed everymorning on dry hair. If you think your child has come in contact wash the child's hair w/lice treatment shampoo (as directed, usu. 10min's left on head) then spray dry hair w/ 'Quit Nits' solution. Can be bought at most drugstores--it is a little 'powerful' smelling, but is made w/ess. oils and makes hair shiny! Fingers crossed, we've been lucky w/ this!
Okay, well, first get the shampoo and a metal lice comb thing. You have to get a special lice killing shampoo which you can pick up in the pharmacy section of a grocery store. Next wash your hair with the shampoo (be sure to read the directions, because it's a bit different then your normal stuff) afterwards take the special comb and dip it in vinagar. (sp?) comb through your hair and keep doing this to get all the lice and nits out. Comb through the hair everyday and use the shampoo about
Information is at best vague - and at worst just plain WRONG. By the time lice are observed on the head, they have been there for many days. Lice and eggs cannot live off the head so there is NO NEED to treat and clean clothes and linen any differently than usual. And there was no information about preventing lice - so the title is a lie. Daily checking and removal of lice is necessary, but nits will come out by themselves in time.
instead of bagging stuff for 2 weeks give them 20 minuites in the freezer this will kill them also the bedsheets thing doesn't work they can live for two days in the carpet bed etc if you use solution that says leavein over night the lice will flee the head juring the night of application so its the day after the sheets need to be changed and you should put tea tree oil solution on anyone in the house who doesn't have them as they won't go near the stuff
Lotions do not work. They will come back. It is difficult to use lotions by your self on your own hair. I wish these could be eradicated from the face of the earth.
