I have never seen wordprocessor made in Taiwan either. However,many have been made in Korea since the '80s.

Proof is in everyday's life. Nobody has seen Taiwanese made supertankers, skyscrapers, industrial plants, tanks, Aegis ships,submarines,cars,nuclear reactors, office packages,middleware,AMOLED and many others. However, all of these are made in Korea.

Korean entry level workers earn at least twice more than those in Taiwan. PPP GDP is not accepted here as an indicator of a nation's strength. The ranking of 2009 was only because Taiwanese makers tried to compete against Samsung by increasing output at that time. But how are the Taiwanese semicon companies now? As we know, they are in bad situation now.Samsung has unlimited financial resources.

And what is the largest ship built in Taiwan? The Perry class, as I remember. Korea had built KDX-3 and also the largest landing ship in Asia, the Dokdo , which will have F35 in the future. The US has refused to sell new F16 to Taiwan while Korea will have F35.Korea has 60 F15E.So which is better?

Taiwanese makers were defeated in the DRAM chicken game of 2008 since they have no money. The last tank built in Taiwan was the CM11 which is a local version of M48. Solar power cannot supply sustained industrial grade electricity. Without nuclear power generation, a country's economy cannot exist. Korea will have 3 dozens of reactors and also researches nuclear fusion. There are no major Taiwanese products besides portable digital devices .Korea exports entire industrial plants.

The evidence is that 1)Korea has 2,500 modern tanks of which 600 will be of the K2 Black Tiger type and 2)Korea can mobilise more infantry soldiers than China and 3)human wave tactics won't work anymore due to the XK11 OICW which has a kill ratio of 70:1. Taiwan had gold&forex reserves and UNSC seat when it escaped from the mainland,as well as connections in the US.Korea had nothing and was not UN member until 1991. But now its totally different,

10 years ago,Taiwanese exports were similar to those of Korea in terms of amount. Now Korea exports more than twice more. Taiwanese companies are not small-companies equal to their scale don't exist in Europe or Israel if we exclude traditionally established ones. Their real problem is lack of proprietary and unique capabilities.

Mr.Son Joongsan is no more; he is a past person in history book. Unification with PRC means that Taiwan will become subject to control by the chinese communists. Korea has a ground force consisting of 2500 modern tanks and millions of wartime mobilisable combat force and can defeat China in case of ground war even if this will be a pyrrhic victory.

And Korea is being trusted by the West while Taiwan is not. Just check the export control regime where Korea has top notch privileges while Taiwan does not. A Taiwanese was caught in the US for attempting to selling F16 engine to China and served jail sentence. No Korean does such bad things. Korea will become major military power while Taiwan' smilitary capabilities will become like former yugoslavia's TO units.
