The Golden Valley Police and Fire departments recently honored Golden Valley resident John Richter, 86, for donating $5,250 to the Public Safety Department to purchase exercise equipment. Exercise is important to Richter, who spends 40 minutes a day on a treadmill and also swims three times a week.
Brooklyn Park will offer Little Tot Playtime for children 6 and under starting September 8 through mid-December. It will be offered 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Community Activity Center and 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday and Friday at Zanewood Recreation Center. The cost is $2 per child, payable at the main office. This is an unsupervised program and adults must accompany children.
