U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was in Honduras on Tuesday, attending a meeting of the Organization of American States.
One issue on the table was Cuba, which was kicked out of the OAS in 1962. While most of the 34 nations in the group want Cuba to be reinstated without conditions, Clinton said there must be changes made by the Cuban government, including the release of political prisoners, respect for basic human rights and democratic reforms. That position comes despite recent overtures by the United States to improve relations with Cuba.
Shannon ONeil, an expert on Latin America with the Council on Foreign Relations, joins Martin Savidge to discuss what it would take for Cuba to be re-admitted into the organization, overtures from Cuba to the U.S. and Irans interest in Latin American countries.

Latin America is controlled and exploited by America with the Monroe Doctrine. It is their backyard for overseas investments.
They keep presidents in office who will serve their best interests, which is why they had CIA-sponsored coups in Guatemala and Chile, their man Batista in pre-Castro, why they invaded Grenada and Nicaragua, etc.
They have a lot to do to repair their relationship with Latin America.

You are absolutely correct. The Obama regime is also acting pretty pathetic towards the fascist coup taking place in Honduras.

The U.S. has no right to make demands on Cuba since they are not a perfect government and cannot force western democracy on everybody like it is the only thing that matters.
They cannot make demands because this is the same country who massacred the Filipinos after promising them democracy, nuked over 100,000 people into oblivion, uses the Monroe Doctrine to exploit Latin America, trained radical Islamists against the Soviets, invaded Vietnam and Grenada, coups in Guatemala and Chile, etc.

The US has no right to make demands on Cuba in the same week Obama happily shakes hands with the truly brutal tyrants of Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
