Through a waterfall on the Panj River

Going along the rocky road from Kulob, Tajikistan to Khurog, Tajikistan - this is approximately 30 kilometers from the village of Khali-Khumb on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

I got this waterfall without warning( dimmed/broken headlight!) in the middle of the night, during a try-out of a motorcycletrip (central-asia ring) in May 2010 with silkoffroad travel.

Astonishing experience!

@DunoSteinebruck That's amazing; I couldn't imagine traveling this route at NIGHT, on a 2-wheeled vehicle. I was nervous on those ledges enough when I could see them; I would have been weeping like a child if I couldn't!

You read my mind ;-)

Because of delay due to missing bridges ( youtube.com/watch?v=DgvYtw5FXR­E ) we plunged, slided & trickened through this part of road to Khulaichumb.

Thanks to the dark and roaring sound of river, there was no problem to hide my sniffing tears ;-)

And thanks to my partner & guide Marat from silkoffroad.kz ( and now comrade for live-time ) we conquered this track ;-)

These Parts of Afghanistan and the whole of the north ''Shamali' is so beautiful, it reminded me of the french alps and norhtern france. If only peace and reconstruction took place faster.
