Dave Channon is a spokesman for the Catskill Heritage Alliance Carolyn Zolas is the Chair of the Watershed Committee for the New York State Sierra Club - Atlantic Chapter. Julia McQuain ifs Coordinator of the "Save the Mountain Alliance. In the program they discuss what they see as the negative environmental impact of a very large scale proposed development plan involving the Belleayre Mountain area in upstate New York. The area is a major source of water for the New York City area and they argue it would negatively effect - at very high cost - the quality of that water supply. They strongly argue against the development project and urge public support to block it.

  • Why should the Catskills suffer a lack of econmomic development because NYC polluted their water?

  • Very good interview with all of these people. Great way to tell the New York City people where their water comes from. We need to make people aware of these three reserviors that service NYC's water sheds - Croton, Ashokan, and Pepecton Reservoirs.
