Part of the ITG (Irish Traction Group) Weekend of Activities.

This was the much awaited launch into preserved working traction for A39.
This member of the A Class (001 class in later life) is an Irish Railway locomotive originally intyroduced into service in 1958.
The locomotives had a long life with CIE, and lasted nearly into the new Century.

This is the Locomotive's start of service with The Downpatrick & County Down Railway.
