Someone mentioned a 5gig cap to me.. sounds ridiculous. I think I read the average household usage is around 30gigs? I know I used around 100gigs last month, but I was also reinstalling everything from reformatting. Redownloading my music, programs, and games LEGALLY. lol, I don't remember when I last bought a physical game or cd.
Thank God Comcast has 250gig cap. If they ever drop it, I'm screwed.

pay as you go is a horrible idea....how does it help the end user? it's just a way for isp's to make more money.

Unless your internet connection is a part of a free bundle, or part of a cheap TV or mobile phone package, U.K. ISPs rarely impose caps.
The problem with U.K. internet connections is that British Telecom own a completely monopoly on the countries copper telephone network, and unless you pay for a super-expensive fibre optic connection, then you've got to use the shitty copper connection, that British Telecom never maintain properly, and rarely bother to upgrade (since they own the monopoly).

I'm on 60kbps, but although I have no download limit, my connection constantly loses packets and always has a terrible ping.
Only one internet provider offers a broadband connection in my area. And they are charging me a rip off price for the speed and quality of connection.
Capping would DESTROY the internet, especially for me...
