Part4 Iranians r too much nationalist & proud of their country, they cant see any wrong in it! The critic is directed to some elements into the regimen but not the whole system. They r little critic about Iranians attitudes which r often antidemocratic. Political ideologies r very ignored & democracy is not always associated with something good since is wrongly related to US. Personally I cant see any other solution then a democracy with all the good and bad it implies! BUT R THEY READY?!

Part3 I believe that people in Iran don't have clear in mind if they want to replace the regimen or just reform it. I feel the national opinion is VERY splitted when it comes to this point. Outside Tehran I feel people is critic but quite acceptable against the regime. Before the revolution, Iranians didn't know any other political system then their kingdom. Which some still are very proud about and some even say they will return to it.

Part2 The political space to protest is very limited. So the protesters just use it for specific issues. They get repressed and since there isn't any unified opposition, they fall down very easy. The military and the police aren't a divided, as it happen in Libya & Egypt. On the contrary, they are clear defenders of the regimen. So the protesters has not support of any kind. The people are all alone and divided and most sad they don't have clear what they want for a system...to continue

@jonyadegari. Very bright observation! I try to make my view in several notes. As U know the situation in Iran has been this way in many yrs now! There are many reasons why this situation is at it is. 1) There isn't any united opposition, so the protest doesn't develop in anything else, 2) The regime is sufficiently unified. The military and the police aren't divided, 3) It doesn't exist any national view of what kind of model or system will replace the actual regime.

When is the next protest?
Why do the Iranian people stop fighting?
That's why they are not free!
Seriously, can someone tell me what's going on in Iran, when are they gonna start protesting again?!

@issareign Don't U think your reaction is a bite irrational? Forget about the US for a moment and replace Clinton with the Foreign Min. of Turkey! Will it make any difference what is happening in Iran? I think here is one of the mayor problem in Iran! People explain everything that happen with assumptions, believes not looking at the fact. And these the case no matter on which side people belong. The situation in Iran has being going on for years and always ends with protest and repression. Why?

@GearMecha Balls? I hope you mean the ones from the military in Iran o not? And international intervention in a country that hate US and are tremendous nationalistic, that way is no and option. The people have show bravely what they don't like but their no united opposition? There is no a part of the military or the police who dessert and join the people wish, as has happen in Libya and Egypt. If someone hasn't show balls -and for years now-, are the military and the police.

@FreedomandFairness "You never see this situation arise in the name of secularism or atheism though." It is atheist governments and dictators that have caused the largest Genocides and human rights abuses of the last 200 years. China is a country were Religion is outlawed and they are the largest human rights abusers in the world superseded only by North Korea again where atheism is mandated. Atheism can be and has been Just as fanatical as any religious movement. Hitler + atheist = holocaust.
