30-50kv arc, and getting shocked by it.. twice..

just showing a juicier arc. this is from a car battery that i just took off my charger..
i wasnt expecting it to be so powerful, thats how i ended up shocking myself twice like a dumbass, usually i dont think its going to be that strong unless i charged it 24hrs, but apparently it gets a full charge after less than 12.. i cant measure the amps but the arc strength lets me know.. i have tried dioding my wheel input source adapter and put it to the battery but after 12 hours it only held an arc for a few minutes. this means somehow my wheel is charging much more efficiently, even better than a commercial trickle charger i believe.

this arc is actually much longer but i have another safety spark gap inside the box set at just over an inch to prevent it from burning my internal windings, so any time i move my leads apart longer than about an inch, the arc will jump on the inside of my other gap and stay there until my move my outer gap closer and steal it.. this way it always has a safe place to arc..

but as u can see its quite hard to shield this much voltage, and u should always be prepared to catch a good electroslap.. good thing its fairly low current otherwise the bruce lee "whoooo!" sound i gave out would have been more like a silent death ya dig
