Aero. Cool. Light. Until now, you couldn't really have all three of these attributes in a single design without compromising at least one aspect of performance in some way.

The Air Attack ends the compromise.

With a compact, versatile design that creates less aerodynamic drag than our best road helmets, and a patent pending approach to ventilation that provides better cooling power than our best aero helmets, the Air Attack redefines performance. By reducing drag and helping to maintain your optimal temperature, it can enhance your body's efficiency, in effect giving you a boost of free speed.

It's a revolution in helmet design, from the leader in helmets, Giro®.

When is this out in the UK and at what price? I really like the neater, more compact, look of this. Found out about it after seeing the women's Olympic road race & searching Marion Vos Helmet.

The Air Attack will be available in Spring 2013, with final pricing in the UK determined by our distributor Madison. Pricing will be close to our other high-end helmets such as the Ionos and Aeon. Cheers, Giro

Hi, Bob - Every crash is a unique event. So we can't make claims for that type of thing beyond how the helmet performs to the most relevant standards. That said, this helmet is still in development stage but is being designed to meet the most current cycling standards, including CE and CPSC. Thanks for the question!

Very aerodynamic, but Giro ensures it will ventilate well due to the high pressure area at the forehead...which they then cover with a massive eye shield....

I notice that the shield has ventilation slots at the top (2:26-ish), so maybe the guys at Giro are not as stupid as you think.

It seems like an interesting idea but I'm not so sure the version with the magnetic visor would be suitable for a century road ride? Seriously is this helmet worth a two day Seattle to Portland ride?

I dont really get it: first part of the video they explain how revolutionary ventilation is in the helmet with the tiny holes in front pushing the air to the back. The second part describes the magnetic visor, which simply covers these "magnificent" small holes over the forehead. It is simply absurd!!!

All helmets are to meet the same exact standard, and like Giro said you can't really cover all scenarios of crashing so it is a waste of time discussing how it works in terms of protection when it works just the same as a 50 dollar helmet would.
