@lococavasa You can build an Earthship big enough for a family of 5 for under 50k.

Sounds cool but i bet they only coast about a half a million. LOL half a million too much everything is to much.

Can't be done. Air doesn't need to be produced, or altered in any way for us to breathe it, and the water used is treated and used by the home owner. If something isn't produced by anyone (or only by nature) then it cannot logically speaking be property.. Therefore, air and water taxes for these homeships are impossible by law. Well at least I guess that goes for dutch law, not sure about the crazy US..

Living with nature in sustainable ways is great.
Does it have a deep space communications system? What mileage does this ship get, what's it's top speed? What's it's passenger capacity? Can it escape earth's gravity when we get another big meteorite strike? Will it carry the seed of creation to another planet when the earth explodes like a dandelion?
Maybe earth ship is a bit of a misnomer. Recycled, reusable, sustainable, self-sufficient alternative housing.
I can only afford a tent.

Al Gore will want to tax them. Carbon tax, water bill. Air consumption tax. Some form of imposed slavery must be applied to all living things after all.

What a silly comment...
The houses were originally named "Earthships" because they are self-contained, having everything they need to sustain you without drawing from the outside environment, much like a ship on the ocean. A Ship on the earth.
