How did you get it out? Did the whole motor have to come out with it?

Can a 2000 TL transmission fit a 1999 TL? I want to do a swap because the 99 tranny is a 4 speed and the 00+ is a 5 speed!!

I used Castrol version for Honda fluid and it seems just fine. Of course I no longer have Honda Clutches in there, they are aftermarket built by raybestes, Not sure I would recommend any fluid but Honda fluid on the actual Honda clutches

I have now put 15000 miles on my rebuild and still running perfect. My mom is going to take the car now, so I will get to continue watching to see how it goes. I think I have pulled it off. I have now done several Honda transmissions too that are similar without problems. To me, these are easier to do then engine rebuilds

I guess anything is possible if your bull headed enough, I have a feeling though the electronics that know to shift 4 gears will go nuts not knowing what to do with an extra gear that you have mechanically added. The ECM I think will be your stumbling block and that is if everything bolts up mechanically. Would be a bigger task than I would want to try

I have now put over 11,000 miles on this rebuild and still driving it without any problems. So far this has made a nice car for me saving a lot of money by not having to drive my 2500hd GMC

you fixed it?

@vietcong4u Yes, I fixed it. The TL has 4 check balls in them. If you attempt it make sure you get all 4 check balls back where they go.
