A tour of MV Freshwater moored at Lymington Pier in October 1983.
Built in 1959 by the Ailsa yard at Troon for BR/s Southern Region
Operated by BR Sealink on the Lymington to Yarmouth route, which is now part of Wightlink Ferries.
The MV Freshwater was soon to leave Lymington for Harry Pounds scrapyard in Portsmouth.
It was sold eventually to Western Ferries and renamed MV Sound of Seil working on the Clyde.
Thanks to Ian Hulley for allowing me to upload this clip.
Also thanks to Brian Bucket for loaning me his copy of the video.

Hi westrex. I have two sets of name letters off the "Southsea", including the 'Portsmouth' letters from her stern.
Lovely old vessels these were.

Interesting Video of the "Freshwater" and remember her well both at Lymington and then on the Clyde as "Sound of Seil", sadly what remains of this ferry is a Rusty Hulk at Garston near Liverpool.
At least some parts from the "Freshwater" were saved as I purchased both set of "Sealink - M.V Freshwater" name plates from owners that had the "Freshwater" berthed at Harry Pounds in 1983.
