  • beautiful!

R4D in her (definitely a grand old lady!with guts!) spiritual home....and boy those spirits come alive when she dances through the trees...

Is that wonderful clip of Raymond Mays driving up Shelsley with the onboard camera around anywhere on here?

  • simply fantastic, my favourite sound!

  • Was he Ron Flockhart? If so, I saw him drive R4D at Goodwood - an Easter meeting around 1952/3/4. Very fast and impressive and he outpaced the anaemic F2 unblown 2 litre cars of the day - too bad about the spin as he closed on Baron de Graffenried's Maserati. Great days, but of course R4D is a lot faster these days. Best wishes.

  • My uncle Ron owned and drove this car many years ago. Good to see it still running hard and sounding good. Last saw it at Donnington Park in 1992 at the memorial race.
