It might be December, but that didn't stop UC architecture students and faculty from beginning a green roof atop the nationally ranked College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). The effort has begun very simply by placing two modular green roof trays to cover four square feet of the roof. The trays are fully planted with several varieties of a Mediterranean plant genus called sedum. These low-lying, moisture-retaining plants are ideal for the dry, windy climate of a roof.

  • So when is the whole roof green? You can use the turf baseball fields use. It's good and light weight. Turfmaster or soilmaster
