This video was made during the 2007 International Student ROV Competition. It shows student teams competing with underwater robots (called ROVs, or remotely operated vehicles) that they designed and built, and discusses why the competition is important to the future of marine technology education.

  • Wow, I remember this competition! It was my school's second time competing, and I was on as a mentor (I graduated the year before). It was a blast... the only drawback being that we didn't get to travel much. Being a Newfoundland team, we were visiting a city we all knew pretty well.

  • cool. my team's in this too. i'm the black chick at around :30 and 2:25, lol. one of my teammates is at around 1:16. the guy at 4:45 from the scottish team was really awesome to talk to.
