  • Now thats got to be the best sounding bike of all time. I'd rather listen to this then a lot of modern day x factor songs

  • looks like we got a propper bike geek off, arguing over technical specifications indeed! This is a piece of history so put your micrometers and other instruments away and just enjoy :P

  • @metalmoep what a stupid statement a question is for instance" how are you today?" that is a question. I've seen this bike up close and personal, and it will idle '3000 rpm because i've got a DVD with past riders on it saying that the bike wouldn't idle at below 3000 RPM and it also says that the bike is now tuned to idle- so i think i know what i'm on about - thicko@grandsportcorvette

  • Such a shame that it wasn't at the pageant of power this year.......

  • it will idle.of course now the engineers at honda have given it a 3000 rpm idle. who says u can't get an engine to idle. ive seen this bike at goodwood. what a sensational noise.

  • The max rpm for the six was 18000, it was originaly designed to spin @ 17000 but in a desperate attempt to stave off the Yamaha RD05s of Phil Read & Bill Ivy Honda permitted Ralph Bryans & Mike Hailwood to take them to 18000....the only bikes that revved higher were the 5 cylinder 125cc Honda @ 21000 & the Honda 50cc twin @ 22000.

  • The carbs have NO idle circuit in them, That's why the tach starts at 4000 rpm, and it helps keep the plugs from fouling & the rush of incoming fuel with each throttle twist helps cool the valves & cylinders.

  • wow man just let the fuckin thing idle

  • it has just no idle... stupid question
