Silver City Mountain Resort Timelapse

I have realized that my camera, a Canon T2i with kit lens, seems to give me a better picture on the LCD then it really captures. I think it is partly due to the fact that I test all my shots in the middle of pitch darkness and every little light (star) just pops on that LCD screen. I assume that it is all properly exposed and then realize after I download the hundreds of photos that the pictures are always very underexposed. This creates a huge problem because I then have to go into my editing programs and push the photos to their limits to gain exposure. This highly degrades the images and creates a multitude of digital noise. I need to try and always overexpose what I am actually seeing from the camera, however they still look really cool.

Its so easy! Especially if you already know how to do long exposures. The trick is the intervalometer remote that you need to tell your canon to fire at predetermined time sequence.

These remotes are fairly cheap.... 30 dollars or so. and basically tell your camera to fire ever 5 seconds... 20 seconds... whatever you wish. You then take these pics and open an image sequence in quicktime. All super easy... just google it. Philip bloom has a great explanation.

OMG this is incredible... can you tell me how you did the time lapse? I've taken stills like these in places like the Grand Canyon (north rim), Joshua Tree and Yosemite. But these time lapse are spectacular. Great great work, and perfect music. I use a Canon XSi (it's a couple of years old now).
