Well, for one, doctors have to practice so as to avoid being sued for medical malpractice...this does not assist with positive health outcomes *and* it makes healthcare more expensive.

The truth is that as payouts for medical malpractice lawsuits have gone down significantly, the insurance premiums have increased dramatically.

Medical malpractice insurance premiums have an inverse relationship to payouts, as payouts go down, premiums go up. Again the insurance companies lie & convinced the public that big payouts cause increases in insurance premiums & the cost of healthcare. Doctors protect bad doctors & the insurance companies blame injured patients for their own greed.

This is one more reason to move towards socialised healthcare system, like the rest of the first world.

The USA spends more per capita, in the world, on its Healthcare but isn't rated within the top ten healthcare systems in the world.
