At least one reporter understands economics. CNBC's Melissa Francis told "On the Money" viewers March 15 that their taxes were going to get hiked "if the Democrats get their way." The fun twist? Francis and her colleagues couldn't find any Democratic politician, strategist or even a think tank cohort to come on the show and tell the American people why raising their taxes would be a good idea.
"I don't understand. How does raising taxes and stifling economic growth keep America great?" Francis asked her guests, Pat Toomey of the Club for Growth and Jack Burkman, a Republican strategist. The rest of the segment was shooting fish in a barrel, pointing to the economy's strong growth following the 2003 tax rate cuts.
And Francis proved she has more of an economic understanding than a majority of reporters: "If there were a Democrat that was willing to come on this show tonight, they might say something like, you know, they're trying to pay for the budget, or they're trying to, you know, slim down the deficit," Francis said. "But I was always taught when I studied economics that when you raise taxes, you might end up with less revenue."

It seems that the world has forgotten that low taxes lead to economic growth do to the freedom of the PEOPLE to start businesses, invest, buy things, and higher employees. Now all of europe and the rest of the world is some sort of socialist, when will liberals learn that government is unproductive and people are productive. Reagan cut taxes in half and came out with 900 billion dollar surplus, and carters stifling increase in taxes lead to a surplus a fraction of this, with no economic growth.

fascism- a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce. SEE stooge, it has nothing to do as what you described. learn about governments before criticizing them first. I am no Obama fan, but I KNOW you need to LEARN

Stooge, I still see that you do not know what fascism is. You should have looked it up to properly use the word. -fascism does not demand state ownership of the means of production, nor is fascism committed to the achievement of economic equality. In theory, communism opposes the identification of government with a single charismatic leader (the cult of personality), which is the cornerstone of fascism. Whereas communists are considered left-wing, fascists are usually described as right-wing.

And this is where people are uninformed. ObamaCare gives working people healthcare whose employers do not provide it and for those that cannot afford to pay it independently.

I shouldn't be paying for certain people who are perfectly able to work. That's my problem with socialized medicine.

All those people I named were Obama appointees and nominees who did not pay taxes. In fact, tax cheat Timmy Geithner, who couldn't use TurboTax, runs the treasury. Charlie Rangel, who runs the committee that writes the tax code, was recently caught not claiming a million dollar property as assets, on top of his failure to pay taxes. And if you look at what Obama and his supporters are doing, that is fascism.
