MacBook keyboard light sensor

Ive just now realised how sensitive the automatic keyboard light dimmer was on my laptop.
Pretty cool. :)

I bought a Macbook Pro a couple of days ago.

My Problem is:

It is weird, if the light is going out in my room, the keyboard light is getting darker, not lighter.

But why? I can understand why this works on the display. If its dark in the environment the display is getting dark. But only because the fact, when its dark you don't need so much display light.

Why doesn't it work with my keyboard light sensor like yours :(

I have the MacBook Pro of 2011 with 4x2,0 Quadcore and 15inch display...
