In this video, we talk about the Magnus Effect in relation to producing lift on an airfoil. We also discuss Bernoulli's Principle, the Boundary Layer, Angle of Attack in relation to Stall, Airfoil Angle of Attack profiles in relation to stalls, and finally the four different types of flaps.

  • this is quite detailed for PPL groundschool

  • trash, avoid this it will put incorrect information in your brain

  • you fucking suck. Thats as techinal as i wanna get.

  • This is the difference between a bad ground instructor that just came out of school, vs one that has experience teaching private pilots real knowledge that they need to know.

  • I'm sorry but this video is not accurate. The Magnus effect has NOTHING to due with the lift an airfoil produces. Also, the description of static and dynamic pressure is misleading if not flat out wrong. Ultimately the Magnus effect lift is caused by an asymmetric separation of the boundary layer on either side of the cylinder, which causes an asymmetrical pressure distribution. The descriptions given may fly for for pilots, but not for engineers...
