MNT's Rainwater Collection System with Manifold

This is my first YouTube submission, so be kind ;-)

As explained in the video there are 4 55-gallon barrels connected to a manifold. The piping is 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC. Please leave comments and questions (if you have any). Thanks for watching!

Question:

Do you not need an air escape in the barrels or does the "gurgling effect" (I just coined that) allow air to evacuate and not compress the air preventing a complete filling?

I've heard that dark colored barrels will not promote algae growth as much as the white barrels.

I just built the same system as you after watching your video today. My question is, how long does it take for the barrel to equalize water level? I did a 2 barrel system. I will post soon with credit to your system.

Would an ultra violet filter be needed before the first barrel to stop the green algae if this was used for drinking ( RO ) ?

If you place these barrels on an angle can you increase the water pressure coming out on the other end going from high to low?

I have a question. . . might be a dumb one but I dont care, do the barrels have to be completely level?
